Ernst Roofing 5-Year Workmanship Warranty
At Ernst Roofing, we stand behind our work. Every roof we install is backed by our 5-Year Workmanship Warranty, giving you confidence that your roof was installed correctly and professionally.
Warranty Term
This workmanship warranty is valid for five (5) years from the date your roofing project reaches substantial completion.
What This Warranty Covers
Ernst Roofing warrants that all roofing workmanship was performed in a good and workmanlike manner and in accordance with generally accepted industry standards.
During the warranty period, Ernst Roofing will repair, at no cost to the homeowner, any roof leaks or defects that are determined to be the direct result of improper workmanship performed by Ernst Roofing.
Covered items include:
- Installation-related roof leaks
- Improper fastening or sealing
- Flashing installed by Ernst Roofing
- Workmanship defects directly related to our labor
What Is Not Covered
This workmanship warranty does not cover:
- Manufacturer material defects (covered under the manufacturer’s warranty)
- Damage caused by storms, hail, wind, tornadoes, hurricanes, lightning, ice damming or other acts of God
- Damage caused by falling objects, foot traffic, animals, vandalism, or neglect
- Normal wear and tear or aging of roofing materials
- Structural movement or settling of the building
- Improper ventilation, condensation, mold, or moisture issues not caused by our workmanship
- Repairs, alterations, or modifications performed by anyone other than Ernst Roofing
- Failure to properly maintain the roof
- **Any shingled roof installed not installed on plywood or solid sheathing. (ex. 1×6, 1×8, etc.. boards)**
- **Any shingled roof installed over another shingled roof.**
Making a Warranty Claim
If you believe you have a workmanship-related issue, please:
- Notify Ernst Roofing within a reasonable time after discovering the issue
- Provide reasonable access for inspection
- Allow Ernst Roofing the first opportunity to inspect and repair the concern
Ernst Roofing will determine whether the issue is covered under this workmanship warranty.
Warranty Repairs
Repairs made under this warranty are limited to correcting the workmanship defect only. Warranty repairs do not extend, renew, or restart the original five-year warranty period.
Transferability
This workmanship warranty is transferable to one subsequent homeowner within the original five-year term. Written notice of the property transfer must be provided to Ernst Roofing within thirty (30) days of closing using the Transfer Form.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Missouri law, Ernst Roofing’s liability under this workmanship warranty is limited to the repair of workmanship-related defects. Ernst Roofing shall not be liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages, including interior damage, loss of use, or loss of property, unless such limitation is prohibited by Missouri law.
8. No Other Warranties
This workmanship warranty is the sole express warranty provided by Ernst Roofing regarding workmanship. Any implied warranties are limited in duration to the extent permitted by Missouri law and run concurrent with ours.
8. Updates to Warranty
This workmanship warranty may be updated by Ernst Roofing from time to time. Any updates will apply only to future agreements. Your coverage is governed by the version of the warranty in effect on the date your contract is signed. We recommend keeping a copy of your contract and warranty for your records. All revisions will be clearly dated at the top of the warranty document.
